Care Guide – How to Take Care of Your SOMER Sunglasses
Your SOMER sunglasses are made from premium acetate and designed to last. To keep them looking fresh and sharp, it’s important to treat them with care. Below you’ll find a few simple tips to help you get the most out of your pair.
Avoid Salt Water & Chlorine
Our sunglasses aren’t made for a dive. Salt water and chlorine can damage the acetate frame and cause the logo to fade or peel over time. Always take your sunglasses off before swimming in the sea or pool.
Watch Out for Alcohol-Based Products
Sunscreen sprays, hand sanitizers, and alcohol wipes may contain chemicals that can weaken or discolor the frame and lenses. Always apply these products first, wash your hands, and then handle your sunglasses.
Don’t Leave Them Wet
If your sunglasses do get wet, gently dry them with a soft, clean cloth. Never store them while damp – moisture can affect both the shape and finish of the frame.
Keep Them Cool
Extreme heat (like on a hot car dashboard) can warp acetate frames and damage lens coatings. Store your sunglasses in their case when not in use, especially in summer.
Clean With Care
Use only a microfiber cloth and lukewarm water to clean the lenses and frame. Avoid household cleaners or paper towels – they can scratch or dull the surface.
Store Them Properly
Every pair of SOMER sunglasses comes with a protective case. Use it. Keeping your sunglasses in your bag without protection can lead to scratches, bending, or breakage.
